La magia y devoción de las procesiones.   Guadiaro se prepara para un gran día¡

Hoy queremos hacernos eco de una cita muy especial que tendrá lugar muy cerquita de nosotros: la Salida Procesional (Milagro) en Guadiaro, que se celebrará el próximo viernes 29 de mayo de 2026.

Pero, sobre todo para aquellos vecinos o visitantes internacionales que acaban de llegar a nuestra comunidad, hoy queremos aprovechar para explicar: ¿Qué es exactamente una procesión?

¿Qué es una procesión?

Una procesión es mucho más que un simple desfile; es una manifestación pública de fe, arte y tradición que tiene un profundo arraigo en Andalucía y en toda España. Consiste en un recorrido por las calles del pueblo o ciudad en el que los fieles acompañan a una imagen religiosa (en este caso, una Virgen «Dolorosa»).

Los detalles de la Salida Procesional en Guadiaro

Si quieres vivir esta experiencia de primera mano, la Hermandad del Santo Entierro y Dolorosa de Guadiaro ha organizado un evento precioso para este 29 de mayo.

Aquí tienes la agenda para que no te pierdas nada:

  • 18:00 h – Misa solemne: El encuentro comenzará por la tarde con una misa en la Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Guadiaro.

  • Salida Procesional: Seguidamente tras la misa, las puertas de la iglesia se abrirán para dar comienzo a la procesión por las calles de la localidad.

  • El momento estrella: La «Petalá». El cartel destaca que habrá una petalá en la Calle Aguas Marinas. ¿Qué es esto? Es uno de los momentos más emocionantes de cualquier procesión. Consiste en una lluvia de miles de pétalos de flores (generalmente rosas) lanzados desde los balcones o azoteas justo en el momento en que la Virgen pasa por debajo. Es un homenaje visual espectacular que no te puedes perder y que dejará la calle cubierta de una alfombra de color y un aroma inolvidable.

Today, we want to highlight a very special upcoming event taking place just a stone’s throw away from us: the Processional Outing (Salida Procesional – Milagro) in Guadiaro, which will be celebrated this coming Friday, May 29, 2026.

For those who are new to our community or visiting from abroad, we want to take this opportunity to explain a fundamental part of local culture: What exactly is a Spanish procession?

What is a Procession?

A procession is much more than a simple parade; it is a public demonstration of faith, art, and tradition that is deeply woven into the cultural fabric of Andalusia and Spain as a whole. It consists of a solemn journey through the town or city streets, where locals and visitors accompany a sacred religious statue—in this specific case, a beautifully crafted statue of the Virgin Mary, known here as the «Dolorosa» (Our Lady of Sorrows).

Event Details: The Processional Outing in Guadiaro

If you would like to experience this beautiful tradition firsthand, the Hermandad del Santo Entierro y Dolorosa de Guadiaro (The Brotherhood of the Holy Burial and Our Lady of Sorrows) has organized a wonderful event for this Friday, May 29.

Here is the schedule so you can plan your visit:

  • 18:00 h (6:00 PM) – Solemn Mass: The event begins in the afternoon with a traditional mass at the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Guadiaro (Our Lady of the Rosary Parish).

  • The Processional Outing: Immediately following the mass, the church doors will open, and the sacred image will begin its journey through the streets of Guadiaro.

  • The Highlight: The «Petalá» on Calle Aguas Marinas. The event poster highlights a very special moment taking place on Aguas Marinas Street. A petalá is one of the most emotional and visually stunning moments of any Andalusian procession. As the throne of the Virgin Mary passes beneath the balconies, locals throw thousands of flower petals (usually roses) down onto the statue. It is a breathtaking visual tribute that fills the street with vibrant colors and an unforgettable floral fragrance.
